 MRI Guided Treatment of Prostate Cancer - Animation

This animation provides a basic overview of the steps involved in focal laser ablation therapy procedures.

The animation below show real data from a FLA procedure rendered in 3D. It shows the prostate gland in blue sitting atop the rectum, the urethra and nerves (yellow), and the tomour (dark area in the lower right part of the prostate). The glow is the heat registered from the laser as it is applied to the tumour.

In this video, you can see MRI image data that shows the prostate (green-blue), urethra and nerves (yellow), and the area that is being ablated by heat from the laser (pink), in real time. The pink area of heat completely surrounds the tumour (blue).
